{Mental Health: Pro tips for Massage Therapists}

Massage Therapy and mental health What do Massage Therapy and mental health have in common? EVERYTHING! This past January was #bellletstalkday in Canada and what better way to talk about mental health than through personal experience. Having worked in the massage therapy industry for almost 15 years I have some deep personal experiences with my own struggles.  In today's modern age when the work-life balance seems to be on everyone's agenda, it's easy to obscure one from the other. Our work life leaks into our personal life and our personal lives dictate how we do our jobs. So in essence, it's important to touch base on both sides of the coin. The internal massage therapist mental health struggle Contrary to popular belief, massage therapy is not only a physically...

carnivore diet and travel

{Carnivore Diet and Travel}

Is it possible to travel and maintain the carnivore diet? We recently travelled to Hawaii for 3 weeks and still managed to stay carnivore (zc) while away. Here's how we did it. Disclaimer: I am not a nutritionist, dietitian or a doctor. This is anecdotal. All experiences are my own. Read my disclaimer here. Do your own research into this way of eating and consult a doctor you trust. For those who have followed my journey so far, know that I stopped eating all plants roughly 20 months ago. {Jump Rope, The BEST Full Body Exercise}

DISCLOSURE: THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS, WHICH MEANS I MAY RECEIVE A COMMISSION IF YOU CLICK A LINK AND PURCHASE SOMETHING. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY DISCLOSURE POLICY FOR MORE DETAILS. I was recently re-introduced to the power of the jump rope as a form of exercise. It has been years since I've jumped rope. Although I do recall it being an incredible recess time activity back in the day. You guys remember recess? I hated it. But I do remember loving jump rope. Especially the double rope where you'd have to jump in and back out without being attached by the rope. You knew it was a good day when you walked away without bruises or slashes from the jump rope! Which brings me to today. I have...

{My fat journey}

My own fat journey started 10 months ago when I finally had enough of being fat. Sick of being sick and tired or being tired.  Sound familiar? I've been down this road before. Too many times to recount as I'm sure so many of you have been before. Looking at photos of yourself and thinking "my god, i've really let myself go!", "why am I so fat?" or even "I should really get to the gym more often" etc. Circa. 2009 190 lbs post baby no.2Wearing a bathing suit was painful  We all have demons inside our heads and those guys are real fuckers at the worst of times. There are times when I simply could not care anymore. What's another half bag of popcorn, another halloween candy from the kids stash, another slice of cake?...
